String literals with newlines on OracleDevice

String literals containing newlines don't work in queries on OracleDevice. The newline characters are replaced by spaces. Does anybody know of a workaround? (I'm trying to concatenate string columns, using newlines as delimiters.)

Fixed

Hi Jon,

This defect has been repaired in the latest branch, as well as the 2.1 branch.

Binary download?

Great. Will you be making a binary download in the foreseeable future?

Maintenance Release

Hi Jon,

Yes, we will put together a maintenance release and make the binaries available on the Dataphor.org site. It probably won't be a full msi (we're still updating the Wix scripts for that) but you should be able to do a filecopy deployment with the new binaries.

ShouldNormalizeWhitespace

Hi Jon,

There is a ShouldNormalizeWhitespace property on the SQL devices that determines whether or not the command preprocessor replaces newlines and tabs with spaces. Some of the devices didn't like newlines in their commands, so that was added to get around that limitation, but I'm trying to remember if Oracle was one of the ones that had the issue.

In any case, it sounds like the implementation ignores strings, which is definitely a defect, I'll note that and try to get a repair in place.
